About

OUR WORK

Our main objective is to be the world leaders in the application of NIR for predicting crucial parameters that aid transmission of mosquito-borne diseases. Some of our prominent work include;

  • Detection of Zika virus in Aedes mosquitoes[1]
  • Detection of Wolbachia in Aedes mosquitoes[2]
  • Detection of Plasmodium in Anopheles mosquitoes[3]
  • Age grading and species identification Anopheles mosquitoes [4-11]
  • Age grading Aedes aegypti[12] and Aedes albopictus[13] mosquitoes

Call To Action

We are the world’s leading experts in the application of Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) technique for mosquito borne diseases. The group partners with labs around the world to develop rapid and inexpensive Near-infrared based models for predicting parameters such as age, infection and species identity.
